The biggest black bear ever caught weighed an astonishing 902 pounds ( approximately 409 kilos ).
The second largest black bear ever caught was in North Carolina in 1999. North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission weighed the monster: 880 pounds ( approximately 400 kilos ). Apparently, the black bear was eating hogs from a local industrial hog farm.
Another large black bear caught was in Northern Minnesota on September 5 th , 1994 , which weighed 876 pounds ( approximately 397 kilos ).
In 1885 there was another huge black bear caught in Wisconsin . The enormous animal weighed 802 pounds ( approximately 363 kilos ).
The largest female black bear caught weighed 520 pounds ( approximately 235 kilos ).
As you can see these numbers are quite impressive but keep in mind that hunting these animals is very dangerous and it should be done only by professional hunters with lots of hours of serious training.
